Japanese Armor
Our full sized suits of Japanese armor or Samurai armor provide displays of outstanding quality for the den or the dojo. These Japanese armor sets are crafted by the armorers of CAS Hanwei. Japanese Helms
The Japanese helm is also called a Kabuto, which was used with traditional Japanese armor as worn by the Samurai. The Kabuto has a strong bowl which protects the crown of the head and a suspened series of articulated plates to protect the neck. Often the Kabuto or Japanese helm has a crest of the clan, adorned with "Maedate" (Front Crests,) "Wakidate" (Side Crests) or "Ushirodate" (Rear Crests). These can be family or clan emblems, or flat or sculptural objects representing animals, mythical entities, prayers or other symbols.
Japanese Katanas
The Japanese katana is one of the traditional bladed weapons of Japan. The Japanese katana has a single edged curved blade that was traditionally used by the samurai. The forging process these Japanese katanas typically took days and even weeks to construct and was considered a scared art. Japanese katanas are well known for their strength and sharpness. Japanese Tantos
The functional Japanese tanto is a Japanese dagger, strictly one with a guard and has all of the fittings used on swords. The Japanese tanto blade rarely exceeds 12 inches in length and usually accompanying a katana. The Japanese tanto was designed primarily as a stabbing instrument, but the edge can be used to slash as well. Japanese tantos were mostly carried by samurai, but commoners did not generally carry them. The Japanese Wakizashi is the shorter of the two swords carried by the Japanese Samurai warrior. The blade of the Japanese Wakizashi is about eighteen inches, which is like the long sword but the fittings are often more elaborate.
