A claymore wasn't the typical weapon to find on the high seas; it was too big and unwieldy to use properly on a ship, much less in the cramped fighting on-board a ship. Nevertheless, the Pirate Captains Claymore is a sight to behold. As pirate as it gets, this excellent weapon is more of a symbol of pirates for the collector who favors larger swords over the more authentic weapons, but still wants that obvious pirate look and feel. On that, this sword delivers; the pommel is a captain's helm, the steering wheel of the ship, while the guard consists of two cast-metal flintlock pistols, crossed to form an X-shape. The staggering 51 inch blade is stainless steel, with a slight fuller running nearly two-thirds the length of the blade, which also tappers into a stabbing point. However, the
pice de rsistance is the addition of a pirate skull, complete with eye-patch and captain's hat, that magnetically attaches to the blade. And while the claymore might not have been a common place on the high seas, this Pirate Captains Claymore certainly looks like it belongs there.
