While Excalibur was no doubt King Arthur's most famous weapon, it was by no means his only one; the King Arthur Dagger could very-well have been one of his other side-arms, a fail-safe, for when Excalibur couldn't be drawn. Stretching nearly one and one-half feet in total length, this dagger is richly detailed in brass, with ornate decorations that would be fit for a king. The hilt is wire-wrapped, while the pommel is set with a dragon, one of King Arthur's most memorable heraldic symbols. The guard is styled to look like a pair of roaring beasts, with a wizened face cast between them. On the sheath, King Arthur is embossed into the brass-metal decorations, which are set against vibrant red wood. Certainly not his preferred weapon, given the magnitude of Excalibur, the King Arthur Dagger nevertheless would have served very well as a back-up weapon for a king who might not always have had the need for a weapon as potent as Excalibur.
