The BWT Katana is made by Generation 2 that is strong enough for competition but with a traditional style. The handle of the new BWT katana has brown suede wrapping over white same. The handle is Habaki steel with a burnished copper finish. The O-seppa is brass and the Seppa is made of copper. The Tsuba is constructed of steel with a black finish and the Fuchi is water buffalo horn. The Kashira (band at the bottom of the handle above the Tsuba) is made of blackened steel. The Ito (wrapping) is brown suede with real Same. The Peg consists of Bamboo pins and the Menuki is made of copper with a Floral design. The BWT katana has a tempered high carbon blade with a Real Hamon line. The Hamon is not acid dipped as with most so you can see it, but as you can barely see on the picture to the left at just the right angle you can see the difference just above the edge, where the blade darkens. The blade is 10/60 carbon steel and comes with a full double bohi and nice slanted spear tip. The RC Factor on the Edge was 58/59 but is now 60, and along the back the RC Factor is 40. You can also see the curvature of the blade (especially you competition cutters) this will be a very strong sword. Lastly the Saya, is a full wood saya, black lacquered with the Koiguchi / Kurikata / Kojiri made from Water Buffalo Horn.
