The Roman Gladius Sword is one of the newest Generation 2 designs. A classic Imperial Roman short sword, named for where an original was found in the ruins of Pompeii (reliably dating from 79 CE). Although the Pompeii blade is double edged, it does not have the distribution of mass to make it an efficient cutting sword. Our version features a full tang construction, high carbon blade, hardwood handle. High polished steel spacer at the bottom of the handle for strength and durability and a wood scabbard, wrapped in leather is included.
