Three separately cast pewter angel heads with gold-leaf wings are applied along the stein's flared base. On top of the ornate pewter lid is a pewter figurine of Michael the Archangel in full armor with gold highlighted wings, sword and shield. Handpainted gold-leaf bands complete the body decoration.
