Edward of Woodstock, Prince of Wales, (June 15, 1330 - June 8, 1376), popularly known as the Black Prince, was the eldest son of King Edward III of England and Philippa of Hainault, and father to King Richard II of England. Crafted in Toledo, Spain, the shield is made in burnished steel with bronzed embossing and antique-finish paint decoration. The piece is equipped for wall hanging and is complete with a back-mounted bracket that allows one or two swords to be fixed behind the shield for an outstanding wall display.
