This Crusader's cloak, with its distinctive Teutonic cross, is based on those worn by the Teutonic knights. Our reconstruction is crafted in pure wool with a linen lining. Founded in 1191, this order began with the simple motto of Helfen, Wehren, Heilen, which translates to Help, Defend, Heal. This motto originally defined this orders purpose: they were to aid the sick and injured by building and protecting hospitals.
