As a classical interpretation of a Viking shield, the Wooden Viking Berserker Shield (Four Arrows) is the perfect shield to equip a Viking or a Norse warrior withand even better: this amazing shield will perform well on the field of battle, and off. This simple shield features a flat, heavy-metal boss in the center, which also acts as the hub of the shields simple design. The metal boss sits at the heart of a black cross, while four gray arrows extend from the boss to match the arms of the central black cross. What can be seen of the background of this shield displays a rich, dark wood-grain. The simple black border of this shield is lined with stainless steel studs. The shield measures approximately 25 inches in diameter, making this a completely full-sized shield that, when worn, will cover the arm up to and beyond the elbowand will, of course, provide more than adequate protection to the body. The shield is made from 0.5 inch think plywood; because the wood-grain can be seen on the shield, however, please note that the shield you receive may look slightly different from the shield pictured above (this is just the nature of wood, as no two wood-grains are exactly alike). The back of the shield features a pair of leather straps which allow the shield to be worn comfortably and easily; one leather strap loops around the forearm, while the other is gripped securely by the hand. Several coats of topcoat varnish have also been applied to the front of this shield, to give an added level of protection that will help to defend the shield against wear and tear over the years.
