Despite the incredibly visceral appearance of the Skulls and Hearts Journal, its actually very eye-catching, at first glance, you dont see the skulls or the bleeding heart, but instead, your eye is drawn to the bright, vivid colors. The cover of this startling notebook is made entirely of cold cast resin, and has been hand-painted to give it an impressive overall appearance. The front cover is set against a dull brown background, and features a number of attractive red rose blooms decorating the four corners. At the center of the cover is a large design for which the notebook is named. It consists of a dull red heart that has had a curved dagger driven through it, causing droplets of blood to begin to drip down the daggers blade. Dark brown vines twist around the heart and the dagger, connecting the two not only to each other but also to a number of black roses, which are scattered across the covers central image. Two skulls rest on either side of the pierced heart, both are grim and bone-white and both are gradually being overgrown by the black roses and their vines. The Skulls and Heart Journal contains 50 blank pages, which is a lot of room to fill with any sort of material, from written stories to personal thoughts, down even to artistic sketchestheyre all at-home in this notebook.
