The Spanish Tournament Parade Helmet by Marto is a replica reproduction of helmets used by mounted knights on parade during the reign of Charles V and Philip II, today part of the collection of the Real Armeria (Royal Armory) in Madrid. The Spanish Tournament Parade Helmet is made of steel and characterized by the distinctive shape, with only the eye-slits and breathing holes open. This particular design is more typical of helms worn during the 13th to 14th centuries, but it was also replicated and used during the 16th centuries as a parade helmet. Without excessive decoration, this helm is more indicative of the actual design that a rank-and-file soldier might have donned for parade or dress.
