Kenjutsu was a prevalent skill during the time of the samurai; as the method of the sword it was traditionally accepted as the act of wielding and mastering the katana, something that the High Stance Samurai Statue very-obviously has accomplished. This samurai demonstrates a stance known as jodan-gamae, which loosely references the form of the stance: sword held high, above the head, to allow for lightning-quick, yet still explosively powerful attacks. The less-the-perfect stance can be forgiven, thanks in part to the samurai's fiery expression and aggressive, attacking posture, which offers proof that while this samurai may not be a great name, he is likely a great warrior.
